Renewable energy isn’t just better for our planet; it’s also cheaper to build and maintain. That’s why the rest of the world is going electric. If the U.S. wants to compete on a global stage and lower costs, the Trump Administration must stop taking us backwards.
In Congress, I’ve worked to bring home federal dollars for Community Project Funding requests across San Diego, including investments in infrastructure, housing, universities, wildfire safety, job training, mental health care, and more. Explore the requests I’ve secured ⬇️

The DOJ demanded sensitive voter data on San Diegans before Election Day, with no legal authority and in violation of federal laws. My San Diego congressional colleagues and I are backing our County Registrar. Eligible voters should never be put at risk of having their vote thrown out.⬇️

Servicemembers stationed in San Diego tell me all the time how tough it is to afford housing here. The NAVWAR redevelopment project is an opportunity to address this crisis. Read in Task and Purpose why we must build housing, not a data center here:

The Navy’s overhaul of a downtown San Diego campus may include a data center. A lawmaker said the project should include military housing.
¡Feliz día de los Muertos! May all those celebrating in CA50 and around the world feel the love and comfort of your departed friends and family. I wish you peace and warmth as you celebrate and honor their lives.
California is prepared to defend the constitutional rights of every voter no matter what. Check out this Know Your Rights graphic to ensure you and your community are ready to make your voice heard by November 3rd.
For years, I’ve said the NAVWAR campus is one of our best opportunities to build housing at scale. A data center does nothing for the neighborhood and takes away land we urgently need for other uses. Our bill will ensure this site can be used for what San Diegans actually need and want. Learn more ⬇️

President Trump went into the war in Iran with no plan or strategy and did not properly prepare our servicemembers or assets. Now, our operations and supply chain logistics are suffering. These unexpected, historically long deployments hurt servicemember retention & our long-term readiness for war.

Dolores Huerta was a force for good who devoted her life to securing a more just and dignified world. She transformed the lives of countless workers and gave a voice to those who had often been overlooked. I send my prayers to her friends and family, and all those who will carry her work forward.

Weakening our ability to restrict methane emissions is not only bad for the environment — it’s bad for business.
Most U.S. producers have already adopted methane-reduction tech, giving them a real edge in global markets where responsibly sourced gas is in demand. (1/2)

Not only would the Senate’s permitting deal help us build more clean energy & lower costs, but it would make data centers pay for what they need, so families don’t foot the bill.
See more in @sandiegouniontribune.com on why we need this permitting deal and my pushback to a data center at NAVWAR. ⬇️

Can a bill on Capitol Hill tackle data center concerns in San Diego?
Rep. Scott Peters says the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act includes a provision for data centers.
So far this year, 66,000 wildfires have burned more than 9 million acres across America — thousands of those acres in San Diego alone. The time to act is now; My Fix Our Forests Act has support from Republicans and Democrats, both in the House and Senate, and it’s time we pass it into law. (1/2)
San Diego is in a housing crisis. For years, I’ve said the NAVWAR campus is one of our best chances to build affordable housing at scale. Last week I strongly, publicly opposed the plans for a data center here. It wastes a chance to provide more housing or something else that benefits the community.

Possible data center raises questions about San Diego’s NAVWAR redevelopment
Plans for the NAVWAR site could include a large data center instead of more housing. NBC 7’s Jackie Crea reports.
The surge in ICE enforcement in San Diego has led to families being targeted near schools & other sensitive places. It’s cruel and lawless. I led my colleagues to ask Sec. Mullin who authorized these actions and who the intended targets are. I look forward to getting answers from the administration.
